Update #1. According to reports, a man named Aariel Maynor is suspected of shooting Jacqueline Avant. He has an extensive criminal history and was on parole. Police also say the suspect shot himself in the foot. See the tweets below from CNN reporter Sara Sidner.
Original Story: There are new developments being released surrounding the tragic death of Clarence Avant’s wife, Jacqueline. According to reports, a suspect has been taken into custody over her shooting death and a man has been arrested in connection to the murder.
As previously reported, Jacqueline Avant, the wife of music executive Clarence Avant, was shot to death Wednesday in an apparent home invasion in Beverly Hills.
When officers arrived there were no suspects at the scene.
Jacqueline Avant was the wife of 90-year-old music executive Clarence Avant and mother-in-law of Netflix CEO Ted Sarandos. Clarence Avant, who was not injured in the shooting, is known as the “Godfather of Black Music”.
Clarence Avant and a security guard were present at the time of the shooting, but they were not hurt.
No additional details have been released.
