EXCLUSIVE: Dame Dash Says He Would Be Open To Doing A Roc-A-Fella Biopic: ‘It Gotta Be On My Terms’
On the heels of Kanye West’s Netflix documentary ‘Jeen-Yuhs’, it’s no surprise that other hip hop legends are starting to reflect on their own legacy. In an exclusive interview with theJasmineBRAND, hip-hop mogul Dame Dash, 50, shares that he would be open to doing a Roc-A-Fella Records biopic, however, it would have to be on his ‘terms.’ He says,
“There’s a time and a place for everything so if the time and the place is a place I don’t own and a time that I don’t enjoy, then i’m not doing it. But on my terms I’m gonna do everything, but it got to be on my terms or it doesn’t get done.”
When asked to clarify what his terms are, Dame Dash explains he would need to have control over the project.
“I’ve controlled everything else, how can I not control my life story If I’m alive? That would be a contradiction of the whole story.”
If there ever is a Roc-A-fella biopic, Dame says the person playing him has to be,
“superiorly cool.”
