The Weeknd Hints At Pulling ‘Trilogy’ Album From Streaming Platforms
The Weeknd may be removing his “Trilogy” album from all streaming platforms.
The Weeknd took to Twitter on Sunday (Nov. 13) to announce that “Trilogy,” his 2012 compilation album, is not presented the way he initially intended his fans to hear the project due to missing samples and a different mix. The album features the singer’s first three mixtapes: House of Balloons, Thursday, and Echoes of Silence.
Because of the apparent confusion over the body of work, the Canadian artist, born Abel Makkonen Tesfaye, has expressed the idea of pulling “Trilogy” altogether so that fans can properly experience his early mixtapes. The 32-year-old explained:
“If y’all wanna hear the trilogy how it’s supposed to be listened to … listen to House of Balloons, Thursday and Echoes of Silence individually. not all samples are on trilogy and the mix isn’t the original mix. But shout out trilogy but fyi, for the new fans, it isn’t an album.”

He continued:
“I might get rid of the compilation just so there’s no more confusion, now that ALL the samples are finally cleared since December 17, 2021.”

He added:
“But I also know there are fans of the compilation so I might not get rid of it. But just want it to be clear for all the new fans and weirdly older fans …”

If the “Earned It” singer terminates “Trilogy” from streaming platforms, fans won’t need to stress as “House of Balloons,” “Thursday,” and “Echoes of Silence” are still available on Spotify, Apple Music and other music platforms.
