Shanquella Robinson’s Mother Calls Out FBI For Lack Of Progress On Investigating Her Daughter’s Death In Mexico: I’m Just Trying To Wait For Somebody To Be Arrested
Shanquella Robinson’s mother is anxious as she fights for justice for her daughter.
According to new reports, Salamondra Robinson is complaining about the FBI holding back information from her regarding her daughter’s death. On Thursday (Dec. 1) Salamondra Robinson admitted:
“I’m just trying to wait for somebody to be arrested. The FBI is not telling anything.”
It has been over a month since her daughter passed away at the swanky Fundadores Beach Club in San José del Cabo. As previously reported, Shanquella Robinson departed from Charlotte, North Carolina to go on a trip with friends to Cabo, Mexico where she died 24 hours later.
Salamondra Robinson was initially informed that her daughter passed away from alcohol poisoning. However, along with a viral video seemingly of Shanquella Robinson — who ran two businesses, Exquisite Babies and Exquisite Boutique — being brutally beaten at the villa by a woman who attended the trip, the 25-year-old’s death certificate revealed she suffered a “severe spinal cord injury and atlas luxation,” an instability of neck vertebrae.

Last week, Mexican prosecutors issued an arrest warrant for a suspect allegedly involved in Shanquella Robinson’s death, after it was determined to be from a “direct attack.” The suspect’s name has not been officially released and it’s unclear whether any arrests have been made. Authorities later determined her death as a femicide. Deputy Attorney General Antonio López Rodríguez stated that investigators believe the Charlotte native’s death was the result of injuries inflicted by one of the travel companions.
Salamondra described her late daughter’s “friends” to be deceitful as some of them visited the family after the incident. She said:
“These people looked me in the face and told me there was no fight in Cabo.”
After finding out about what happened to her daughter, Salamondra said she asked the visitors, one of who she claims got nervous and left:
“What did you all do to my child?”
The grieving mother added:
“They’re on the run.”

Shanquella’s father, Bernard Robinson, also opened up about his frustration. In an interview, he said:
“There’s a whole lot of unanswered questions in my mind about her death. I just want justice for my daughter.”
Sharing that he has “been a wreck” since receiving news about her death, Bernard Robinson also revealed that he found out about the graphic video while looking for a gravesite to bury his daughter. He said:
“It broke me to the heart.”
The FBI shared that the ongoing case is seemingly complicated due to the crime being committed in another country. Spokesperson Shelley Lynch said:
“We can’t give a timeline for ongoing cases, but this case is complicated because there are officials from another country involved.”
