Mary J. Blige Dishes on Sobriety, Marriage Problems & Why She Loves Tamar Braxton

Thursday afternoon, Mary J. Blige hit the Wendy Show, promoting her latest album and new movie (“Rock of Ages”). In addition to performing “Mr. Wrong” and “Living Proof” she also opened up about her personal life. Peep a few excerpts:

On her boot fetish:

“I can’t even count them…I love boots; it’s comfortable, it’s almost like a sneaker.”

On being in her 40’s [she turned 41 in January]:

“40’s, is everything…everything I ever wanted…there’s no confusion all the time. It’s a beautiful thing. You’re all for the positive;  you don’t have time for the BS anymore.”

On if she’s struggling w/ her sobriety:

“No, not at all. I don’t need alcohol to get me out of depression. I have occasional drinks with my friends. As long as you’re not killing yourself or hurting yourself and the thing is not controlling you.”

On if she still hits the club:

“Yeah, me and my girls! Some good jeans and some boots.”

On if she’s still friends w/ Lil Kim and Miss:

“I haven’t seen them in years….i haven’t hung out w/ them in a very long time….I’m close w/ Taraji [Taraji P. Henson]. Tamar [Braxton], I just love her. She’s so smart and she’s got a beautiful heart. She’s really a cool person.

On Rumored Problems in Her Marriage:

“My marriage is not on the rocks, but I’d be a liar if I said we’re perfect and everything is great; but it’s real. We love each other.

Plans for Motherhood:

“When its time it’ll happen, if its in my future..i don’t wanna do it bc it’s the trend.”
