Future Announces His Mixtape Is Dropping On The Same Day As Gunna’s New Album, Appears To Fire Subliminal Shot At Fellow Rapper: ‘F**k Yo Album’

Future Announces His Mixtape Is Dropping On The Same Day As Gunna’s New Album, Appears To Fire Subliminal Shot At Fellow Rapper: ‘F**k Yo Album’
Yikes, looks like Future is thwarting Gunna’s album rollout.
The 40-year-old rapper took to X (formerly Twitter) to announce his new mixtape, Pluto, dropping on Friday, May 10th. He also slammed another unnamed artist’s forthcoming album.
Future wrote,
“F*** yo album Sh*t ain’t slappin like my MIXTAPE”

Shortly after, rapper Gunna, whose album One of Wun is also set to be released on Friday, took to X (formerly Twitter) to seemingly respond to Future.
He remarked,
“F*** What These boys talkin bout. Turn this sh*t bac up Notch…..!”

Future and Gunna, once collaborators, seem to be headed for a showdown as they both prepare to drop new music on the same day. The tension between the two artists has been simmering, with speculation swirling since Gunna’s release from custody in the YSL Rico case.
Both Gunna and rapper Young Thug were arrested and charged in 2022 for allegedly being involved in street gang activity and conspiring to violate the state’s RICO Act. Gunna was later released from prison after negotiating an Alford Plea.
In a statement back in 2022, Gunna said:
“I have chosen to end my own RICO case with an Alford plea and end my personal ordeal by publicly acknowledging my association with YSL.”
Fans and pundits questioned Gunna’s release while Young Thug remained in prison, with many suggesting that Gunna might be cooperating with the state against Young Thug.
Despite Gunna’s denial, this narrative has been largely associated with him by many artists and fans.

Gunna and Young Thug
While Future and Young Thug have had previous tensions, they appeared to have reconciled in recent years. However, there seems to be lingering animosity from Future towards Gunna following the YSL Rico case ordeal.
The tension between Future and Gunna first became evident when Future promoted Gunna’s single, “Prada Dem,” earlier this year, but only tagged rapper Offset, who was also featured on the song.

Future then deleted the social media post shortly after.
Gunna’s much-awaited album is already generating excitement among fans. However, with Future surprising everyone by announcing his new mixtape on the same day, fans will ultimately decide which project will come out on top.
Which project will you be streaming? Let us know in the comments!
