Original Story: Estranged married couple Cardi B and Offset are facing a new lawsuit.

The rappers were sued for allegedly not paying to rent the mansion that’s featured in Cardi B’s “Like What” music video. For those questioning why Offset, real name Kiari Cephus, 32, was named in the suit, well he directed the video and allegedly lied to the homeowner alongside his soon-to-be ex-wife.

Cardi B and Offset

According to court documents obtained by TMZ, Cardi B, real name Belcalis Cephus, 31, Offset, and their team lied to avoid having to pay to film inside the Beverly Hills residence. Instead of informing the owner of the property what or who exactly the booking was for, reps for the celebs allegedly claimed an unnamed client wanted to use the mansion to film a TikTok video.

Seemingly wanting to rack up some good samaritan points, the homeowner claims he agreed to let the person use the property nearly for free, forgoing his usual short-term rental fee. You can imagine how shocked the man must have been when he saw Cardi spitting bars inside his residence. He says he would not have waived the rental fees had he known who was booking the mansion and what for. The homeowner is seeking $35,000 in damages.
