CMA Awards EP Speaks On Beyoncé Being Snubbed + Says She’s Always Invited To Sing At The Ceremony
A rep from the CMA Awards recently spoke about the organization’s admiration for Beyoncé.
During a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the show’s EP Robert Deaton was asked about the singer’s latest project “Cowboy Carter” being snubbed and receiving 0 nominations from the award show this year.
Seemingly dancing around the controversy, he said:
“I don’t ever comment on whether someone’s nominated or not, whether it’s Beyoncé or whether it’s Miranda Lambert, for example.”
And continued:
“Is Beyoncé invited? Always, with open arms. Completely open arms. And by the way, I absolutely loved working with her.”

Deaton shared that he was the mastermind behind Beyoncé’s controversial 2016 CMA performance with The Chicks (formerly Dixie Chicks).
He further opened up about the possibility of the 32x Grammy winner coming back to perform in the future, adding:
“I’ve talked to Beyoncé’s manager, I don’t know, I think three times since [Cowboy Carter] came out, and they know that they are always welcome.”
Deaton then revealed:
“I had a conversation with her manager, and said, ‘Look, I’m just letting you know, the arms are open wide for her, if she wants to perform, if she wants to attend. Whatever she would like to do, I want you to know that the welcome mat is at the front door.’ So they know that.”
Could you see Beyoncé performing at the CMA’s again in the future?
