Anok Yai Clears Up Shady Post After Losing Model Of The Year To Fellow Supermodel Alex Consani

Supermodel Anok Yai is setting the record straight, expressing nothing but love and support for Alex Consani following the drama surrounding Consani’s Model of the Year win at the 2024 British Fashion Council Fashion Awards.

In a series of X (formerly Twitter) posts, Anok wrote:

“Alex, I love you and I’m so proud of you. British Fashion Council, thank you, but I don’t want it anymore.”

She followed up with:

“If you’ve seen the effort Alex has put in, you’d understand how proud I am of her. But Alex can be proud, and I can be exhausted at the same time. It doesn’t take away from how much love we have for each other.”

Anok’s X posts came shortly after she posted a meme of Kanye interrupting Taylor Swift’s acceptance speech at the 2009 VMA Awards. Many speculated it was a dig at not winning herself.

A report from Teen Vogue states that Anok has every right to feel some type of way. This was her second nomination for Model of the Year, having lost to Paloma Elsesser in 2023. Despite the setbacks, Anok’s impact on the fashion world is undeniable, with the report noting:

“In the last three years…she’s become synonymous with what it means to be a high-fashion model.”
