Martha Stewart Says Her Parole Officer Blocked ‘SNL’ Hosting Opportunity Following Prison Release: ‘That B@stard’
Martha Stewart recently revealed how she missed out on the opportunity to host Saturday Night Live.
During a recent interview with Jimmy Fallon, the lifestyle mogul shared that she was invited to appear on the popular sketch comedy show in 2005, shortly after her release from prison, but ultimately couldn’t get clearance from her parole officer.
Stewart had served five months at the Federal Prison Camp in Alderson, W.Va., after being convicted of fraud related to the ImClone stock trading case.
When Fallon asked if Stewart would be interested in the hosting gig, she responded:
“I wanted to, and they asked me as I was coming out of Alderson, that camp I was in for a while… And my parole officer wouldn’t give me the time to do it … That b*stard! I still have his name and his number.”
Despite being allowed out of the house for eight hours a day during her parole, reports note that the restriction didn’t align with SNL’s schedule.
“I’m so pissed. Maybe someday.”
