During a recent live rant, the rapper called the abuse case—filed by his former assistant—a “scam,” and questioned the victim’s motives. He argued that if someone were truly victimized, they would seek jail time for their abuser rather than financial compensation.
As we recently reported, a jury found Soulja liable in the civil case this past Thursday, April 10, and a judge ordered him to pay the victim $4 million in damage. Jane Doe sued Soulja back in 2021, claiming he regularly raped and beat her and sometimes kidnapped her after she was hired as his assistant.
Soulja insisted the allegations weren’t true, and claimed that he had no chance to win with an all-white jury. He added that the lawsuit is proof that he’s “made it” as a successful Black artist, drawing comparisons to other high-profile Black celebrities who have faced sexual abuse allegations, including Michael Jackson, Bill Cosby, R. Kelly, and Sean “Diddy” Combs.
Diddy, notably, is scheduled to stand trial next month on charges related to sex trafficking and racketeering.
