Gospel Star Marvin Sapp Teases New Single ‘Close The Door’ Following Tithes & Offering Controversy
Marvin Sapp isn’t letting negativity stop him from using his gift! ??
The gospel singer and pastor recently shared how he’s turning his viral “close the doors” moment into something positive, teasing a snippet of his new track “Close The Door,” which he hopes will uplift anyone going through a tough season.
Alongside a preview of the song, dropping Friday, April 18, Marvin reflected on the backlash he’s been facing, writing:
“The last few weeks have been tough. Misunderstood, misrepresented, misinterpreted, and even maligned. But I’ve learned that when life hands you lemons, you don’t just make lemonade… you build the lemonade company.
And that’s exactly what I’ve done.”
He continued:
“This song will bless you. I believe that with everything in me. My assignment in this season through this song is to help you close the door too.”
As previously covered, Marvin found himself at the center of online backlash after an old clip resurfaced showing him instructing ushers to keep the church doors closed while he attempted to raise $40,000 during a service.

The clip sparked intense debate and ridicule, with Marvin revealing he received hate messages — even death threats — in response. Despite standing by his words, he offered an apology to anyone he may have unintentionally offended.
