Michael Vick Says ‘Some People Are Untouchable’ While Addressing Fellow Retired NFL Star Brett Favre & His Involvement In The $77 Million Mississippi Welfare Scandal
Michael Vick is speaking on Brett Favre and the Mississippi welfare scandal.
In the new Netflix documentary UNTOLD: The Fall of Favre, Vick weighs in on the former NFL MVP’s ongoing controversies and says Favre has faced far less accountability than others might. “People go to jail for stealing money everyday,” he says in the doc.
“If it’s that important, the right institutions can get involved. But, you know, some people are untouchable in certain ways and that’s just the way it is.”
He continues,
“I just think that’s kinda how the system is rigged. You know, some situations have to be played out in court. Some have to be played out in the public.”

For context, between 2017 and 2020, Mississippi officials allegedly diverted at least $77 million in federal welfare funds. $5 million went to build a volleyball stadium at the University of Southern Mississippi, where Brett Favre’s daughter played. Another $1.1 million was paid to Favre for motivational speeches he reportedly never gave.
UNTOLD: The Fall of Favre is now streaming on Netflix.
