Druski To Star In Feature Film Adaptation Of Viral Short ‘The Diggers’ + Kenya Barris Set To Produce
Druski is teaming up with Kenya Barris to expand his viral short “The Diggers” into a full-length feature film, The Hollywood Reporter reported.
The funeral home comedy—featuring Theo Von and Shane Gillis—debuted last week and will serve as the blueprint for the upcoming buddy comedy.
Druski stars as Brandon Digger, who inherits his father’s funeral home and quickly finds out it’s more chaotic than expected.
The film will be produced by Druski’s 4lifers Entertainment and Barris’ Khalabo Ink Society.
“There’s just something about him, a star quality, that thing you can’t describe,” Barris said of Druski. “Druski can be that for this group because he is the guy who believes in the craft.”
It’s not yet confirmed if Von or Gillis will return, but producers include Druski, Barris, Jeremy Allen, and Adam Kassan. The project reunites Druski and Barris following the comedian’s appearance on “Grown-ish,” which Barris co-created.
