Man Who Disrupted Kendrick Lamar’s Super Bowl Performance w/ Palestinian and Sudanese Flags Arrested Months After Incident
Zul-Qarnain Kwame Nantambu, 41, has been arrested following an incident during Kendrick Lamar’s Super Bowl halftime show on February 9 at the Superdome in New Orleans.
According to Louisiana State Police, Nantambu turned himself in on charges of “resisting an officer” and “disturbing the peace by interruption of a lawful assembly.”
Authorities claim he disrupted the performance by waving a flag bearing the message “Sudan and Free Gaza” as Lamar performed “tv off” during the Chiefs vs. Eagles championship game. Although reportedly hired by the NFL for the event, police state Nantambu was “not given permission to demonstrate as he did.”
The NFL, in a statement to TMZ Sports, commended law enforcement: “We commend the Louisiana State Police for its diligence and professionalism in this matter.” The league also confirmed that Nantambu has been banned from all future NFL games and events. He has yet to issue a public statement.
