Late Car Wash Owner’s Final Wish Fulfilled When Helicopter Dropped Thousands Of Dollars In Cash On Streets Of East Detroit: ‘Everybody Got A Little Bit’
An East Detroit car wash owner who recently died of Alzheimer’s Disease had one last wish fulfilled: to line the streets of Detroit with cash.
On Friday (June 27) a helicopter flew above Gratiot Avenue and Conner Street and dropped thousands of dollars in cash for those walking by, according to the Detroit News.
A woman named Lisa Knife who works at a nearby business told the publication that that was his last wish before he passed away.
“Everybody got a little bit,” she said of the money falling out of the sky, adding that it was most likely thousands of dollars.
“There was no fighting, none of that,” she said. “It was really beautiful.”
