The actor recently sat down with his former #WildNOut co-star Tim Chantarangsu and Ricky Shucks for their No Chaser podcast, where he opened up about his walk with Christ. Hudson shared that he “got tired of being a hypocrite” and decided to take his spiritual journey more seriously.
“I was just outside one day, and I started thinking to myself, ‘You got to stop being a hypocrite,’” he continued. “You can’t be running around here telling people about Christ in your private life but then still doing things that are not of Him or like Him.”
Hudson first gained notoriety in the 2010s thanks to viral parody tunes such as Ratchet Girl Anthem, Cheat Song!, and Asking All Them Questions. He has since gone on to star in several films and TV shows.
Expanding on a key change he made to grow closer to God, Hudson added: “Slowly but surely, because it didn’t just start immediately. I had to—it’s like practice. Bad habits are built out of practice. So once I started reading [the Bible] every day, learning Him, experiencing Him, then my faith started to grow in Him. And even more than that, He started to talk to me clearly.”
