Fugees Rapper Pras Michél Teams Up w/ Mark Wahlberg For Documentary On His $4.5 Billion Scandal & Spy Conviction
Mark Wahlberg and Pras Michél are joining forces to bring one of the most shocking true stories in music and global politics to the screen.
On October 3, Pras Michél, the Fugees founder and Grammy-winning artist, was set to be sentenced in his federal spy case connected to the $4.5 billion 1MDB scandal. His sentencing was delayed again as Donald Trump considers a potential pardon.
“Everyone is fascinated by all the twists and turns, like it’s some kind of thriller,” says Michél. “But for me, this is just my life — the real, messy, complicated truth of what I’ve been living through.”
The documentary, produced by Wahlberg’s Unrealistic Ideas, will trace Michél’s journey from “Ghetto Supastar” fame to his conviction on ten counts, including conspiracy and witness tampering. Wahlberg called Michél a “legend,” adding, “I’m rooting for Pras and excited to tell his story.”
