Jets Player Kris Boyd Hospitalized Again After Manhattan Shooting
New York Jets cornerback Kris Boyd has shared a new update as he continues to recover from a g*nshot wound he sustained earlier this month.
“Please bare with me, I haven’t been in communication much…” Boyd, 29, wrote in an Instagram Story on Thursday, November 27. “I was released but had to return to the hospital due to my health issues… I love and appreciate every one of yall dearly who has prayed/reached out even if I can’t get back to you!”
Boyd ended his Thanksgiving Day message with words of faith and determination, adding, “Head HIGH, God is not through with me yet.”
According to police, the sh00ting occurred around 2 a.m. ET on November 16 following a dispute that escalated outside Sei Less restaurant on West 38th Street near 7th Avenue in New York City. Boyd was sh0t in the abdomen and rushed to a nearby hospital in critical condition, where doctors later discovered that a bullet was lodged in his right lung.
The NYPD has not publicly identified a suspect by name, but has released surveillance images related to the incident. Authorities say the alleged shooter fled the scene in a blue BMW.
Boyd previously shared an update on November 19 to let fans know he was breathing on his own and was alert. “God is real, God is powerful!” he wrote at the time. “I’m sorry, I have no words at the moment. Just grateful! I’m coming along, starting to breathe on my own now. Sincerely appreciate everyone!”
The defensive back signed with the New York Jets in March but has not yet appeared in a game this season due to a shoulder injury.
