Diddy Organizes Massive Thanksgiving Feast for Hundreds of Fellow Inmates at Fort Dix
Sean “Diddy” Combs helped transform Thanksgiving for fellow inmates at FCI Fort Dix through a coordinated effort that involved purchasing, preparing, and distributing food throughout the facility.
According to TMZ, Combs worked with an internal group known as Bankroll Bosses to organize the initiative. Through his representative, he shared that he and others bought food from the prison commissary, spent two days preparing it, and distributed meals to each housing unit within the facility.
“Thanksgiving, to me, is about making sure other people eat,” Combs said. “Everybody misses their family. People get depressed during the holidays. We just wanted to come together as a family and do our own thing.”
Prisons typically offer a limited Thanksgiving meal service with minimal preparation. However, this initiative expanded beyond the standard offering. B.I., a former gang leader who assisted with organizing the effort, explained the scope of the preparation. “We cooked the food and sent it to all the buildings,” he said. “Enough for about 200 people each building. It took two days to prep everything.”
The food preparation came with challenges, as inmates do not have access to stoves or microwaves, and ID cards were reportedly used for cutting. The prison itself served turkey roast with traditional sides, including mashed potatoes, corn, and dessert.
Combs also spoke about his experience behind bars and how he has adjusted to prison life. “There’s a lot of misinterpretations about prison. There is a strong brotherhood. We all look out for each other. It’s nothing but a positive thing,” he said, adding, “It’s like a little bit of home in a dark place.”
Combs entered Fort Dix in New Jersey on October 30 to begin serving his 50-month sentence for violating the Mann Act.
