Reality Check: America’s Next Top Model hasn’t even aired yet, and it’s already causing quite a stir.

Adrianne Curry, winner of #ANTM season 1, took to X to share her candid thoughts on the 3-part docuseries, set to premiere on #Netflix on Feb. 16, which examines the long-running show’s legacy and controversies. “I am deeply grateful I won the first season of top model. i think people psychoanalyzing it over 20 years later with a woke lens is absurd,” Adrianne said, not holding back. “I don’t trust people to not manipulate things I say for tv, so i decline everything. Also, the public is cult-like and cruel, so the last thing I want is a bunch of eyeballs on me.”

Her comments didn’t stop there. Responding to someone who suggested the doc aims to make host #TyraBanks look “better than she deserves,” Adrianne replied, “I feel the same way…I worry about the girls from my season who agreed to do it.” She also called the doc a “cover up fest,” adding, “Let em weave their webs.”

In recent years, Tyra and the show’s judges have faced renewed scrutiny and backlash over events during the series’ 24-season run. In the trailer for the doc, finally addressing the criticism, Tyra admits, “I knew I went too far.”

#TJBCrew, what do you think: should ANTM get a pass because it aired during a different era, or is the concern surrounding the series warranted?
