LeBron James Reportedly ‘Ready To Move On From The Lakers,’ NBA Insider Claims
Is #LeBronJames heading for a split with the Los Angeles Lakers?
#NBA insider Jake Fischer seems to think so. During a recent livestream, he said, “The Lakers are ready to move on from LeBron James, and I think LeBron James is ready to move on from the Lakers as well.” Fischer added that any official announcement could come this June. The news wouldn’t be a complete shock, as LeBron’s contract with the Lakers is set to expire at the end of the 2025–26 NBA season.
The potential departure would end LeBron’s eight-year tenure in LA, where he led the team to a championship and became one of the defining figures in franchise history. Reports suggest that if LeBron, 41, does leave, the Lakers would pivot toward building around younger stars like Luka Doncic, 26, and Austin Reaves, 27, signaling a new era for the franchise.
