D’Angelo & Angie Stone’s Son Michael Archer Jr. Says He Feels ‘Cheated’ After Losing Both Parents In One Year
Michael Archer Jr. is opening up about the heartbreak of losing his father, revealing he feels robbed of the future they were supposed to share.
In a clip from the ABC News Live special “Love & Neo-Soul: Honoring D’Angelo,” the son of the late Grammy-winning singer reflected on the emotional toll of his dad’s October 2025 death. D’Angelo, born Michael Eugene Archer, d*ed at 51 following a private battle with pancreatic cancer.
Archer Jr. admitted the grief still feels surreal, especially after also losing his mother, Angie Stone, earlier that same year. While reflecting on memories with his parents, he shared, “I feel, like, cheated in a sense, you know, especially with my father. I was just excited for what the future held for us.”
He recalled noticing when his father’s health began to decline. “His voice as sounded weak like but he was still trying to talk to me,” he said.
Now, he says therapy, music, and fitness are helping him cope.
Let’s continue to keep him in our prayers??
