Sheriff Says Abductor Of Savannah Guthrie’s Mom Could “Absolutely” Strike Again

Sheriff Says Abductor Of Savannah Guthrie’s Mom Could “Absolutely” Strike Again
The search for Nancy Guthrie, the 84-year-old mother of Savannah Guthrie, remains ongoing weeks after she was allegedly abducted from her Tucson, Arizona home.
Authorities believe Guthrie was taken from her residence, and the case has now entered its sixth week without resolution. Investigators say evidence collected at the scene included mixed DNA that could help identify a suspect.
Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos warned that whoever is responsible may still pose a danger to the public. When asked whether the suspected abductor could strike again, Nanos responded, “Absolutely,” adding, “Criminal minds are criminal minds.”
Officials say investigators believe Guthrie may have been targeted, though they have not confirmed that theory. Authorities also released information about a masked individual captured on video tampering with the victim’s doorbell camera.
The person seen on the footage is described as a man about 5’9” to 5’10” with an average build. During the investigation, three people were temporarily detained but were not named as suspects.
Law enforcement officials say Guthrie’s family members have been cleared in the case. Meanwhile, a $1.1 million reward — including $1 million from the Guthrie family and $100,000 from the FBI — is being offered for information that leads to answers.
