Quincy Jones’ Estate Sells Music Rights – ‘Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air’ Revenue Stake Included In Deal
The estate of legendary producer Quincy Jones has struck a major business deal, selling select music and entertainment assets to HarbourView Equity Partners.
According to reporting, the transaction includes portions of Jones’ recorded music and publishing catalog, along with additional rights tied to various projects connected to the late music icon.
The deal also includes Jones’ participation in the classic sitcom The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, a show he helped develop alongside other producers.
Notably, the agreement covers only select assets, meaning the entirety of Jones’ catalog was not included in the sale.
HarbourView Equity Partners, which specializes in acquiring music and media rights, has built a growing portfolio of high-profile catalogs through similar deals.
Jones — whose career spanned decades across music, film and television — remains one of the most influential producers in entertainment history, with the latest transaction adding another chapter to the management of his legacy.
