Diddy Appeals 50-Month Prison Sentence – Claims Judge Punished Him for Crimes He Beat at Trial
Sean “Diddy” Combs is fighting back in court — with the music mogul now appealing the prison sentence he received after being convicted on federal prostitution-related charges.
According to TMZ, Diddy’s legal team has filed an appeal challenging the 50-month federal prison sentence, arguing the punishment is far too severe compared to similar cases.
His attorneys claim the judge improperly factored in allegations tied to charges the jury rejected during trial, including sex trafficking and racketeering. Diddy was ultimately acquitted of those counts, but convicted on prostitution-related violations of the Mann Act.
In the appeal, Diddy’s lawyers argue the judge effectively punished him for crimes “for which he was acquitted,” claiming the sentence represents a “perversion of justice.”
The filing also argues the punishment is roughly four times higher than the typical sentence for similar offenses — another key reason his team believes the ruling should be overturned.
For now, Diddy remains in federal custody as the appeal moves through the court system — setting up what could be the next major legal battle for the embattled hip-hop mogul.
