“The Cosby Show” Star Geoffrey Owens Set To Make Guest Appearance On HBO Hit Series “The Pitt”
Geoffrey Owens is set to appear in HBO’s hit medical drama “The Pitt.”
According to Variety, the former “The Cosby Show” star will make a guest appearance in an upcoming episode, taking on the role of Dr. Clay Barrett, a character introduced during a high-pressure stretch inside the Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Center. Owens first rose to fame in the ’80s as Elvin Tibideaux on Bill Cosby’s family-based sitcom. Many may also remember when he made headlines in 2018 after photos of him working at Trader Joe’s circulated online.
He reflected on that experience during a previous interview on the Big Tigger Morning Show. “I quit Trader Joe’s actually before the news hit,” Owens said. “It was strange because someone had been in the store taking pictures. … And I was like, well, now that this is breaking, I’m not going to feel comfortable working in this store, wondering who’s around with a camera. It’s gonna be just too weird. I’m a very private person.”
Since then, Owens has continued building his acting résumé, landing roles in A Merry Little Ex-Mas, Power, and Poppa’s House. His episode of “#ThePitt” is set to premiere on April 2.
