‘Abbott Elementary’ Stars Quinta Brunson & Tyler James Williams React To Janine & Gregory Engagement Speculation
Could wedding bells be on the horizon for Abbott Elementary’s Janine Teagues and Gregory Eddie?
During a recent interview with Deadline, stars Quinta Brunson and Tyler James Williams were asked about the next chapter in the fan-favorite couple’s relationship after the series hinted at a possible engagement heading into Season 6.
“I’m really excited. I mean, it’s just yielding some good fruit for this Season 6,” Brunson said. “I’m very excited.”
Williams echoed her enthusiasm but admitted stepping back into Gregory’s shoes comes with a little pressure.
“I’m excited. As an actor knowing that I’ll have good stuff to play with, I’m excited. As the person who is slipping back into Gregory’s skin shortly, I’m very stressed. I’m so stressed out, and I can just feel it building, which is good. This is a good place to start the season.”
Brunson then teased that Gregory will have plenty on his plate in the upcoming season, saying,
“Gregory’s juggling a lot this season.”
Williams agreed, adding,
“Yeah, he’s stressed. Just the math of it… yeah, he’s stressed out.”
The interview also looked back on Janine and Gregory’s slow-burn romance. Brunson revealed she always envisioned a long-term arc for the pair but wanted the relationship to evolve naturally alongside the show.
“When we first started dropping the ‘will-they-won’t-they,’ it was exciting to see how much the audience was into it… We can keep going down this path.”
While neither Brunson nor Williams confirmed whether an engagement is actually coming in Season 6, their comments suggest fans can expect another major chapter in Janine and Gregory’s relationship when the Emmy-winning comedy returns.
