Malcolm-Jamal Warner’s Widow Gets $150K GoFundMe Campaign As She Fights Over His Estate In Court

Malcolm-Jamal Warner’s widow and their 9-year-old daughter are receiving public support as a fight over the actor’s estate continues.

Destiny Rael, Tenisha Warner’s closest friend of 19 years, launched a GoFundMe Tuesday with a $150,000 goal. Rael said Tenisha has “stretched every resource she has” while grieving, homeschooling her daughter and handling unexpected flooding at the family’s home.

I know she would never ask for this kind of support herself, so I am asking on her behalf,” Rael wrote.

Malcolm d*ed at 54 in an accidental drowning during a Costa Rica family vacation in July 2025. Tenisha says he planned to replace his 1996 estate plan and provide for her and their daughter, but d*ed before signing updated documents.

The widow is now pursuing claims involving his mother, Pamela Warner, who serves as successor trustee of the Warner Family Trust. Tenisha alleges Malcolm also agreed to obtain a $1 million life insurance policy naming her as beneficiary but never secured it.

Rael stressed that the fundraiser is not asking supporters to choose sides. Instead, donations will help Tenisha maintain stability while she navigates single parenthood, grief and unresolved estate proceedings.
