Chris Brown & Usher Honored In Congressional Record By Rep. Jasmine Crockett For Their Impact On R&B
Chris Brown received a special congressional recognition during a recent stop on his Breezy Bowl XX tour, celebrating his decades-long career and impact on R&B.
U.S. Rep. Jasmine Crockett of Texas submitted remarks into the Congressional Record recognizing the artistry of both Brown and Usher Raymond. The entry praises Brown for captivating audiences worldwide with his distinctive voice, songwriting, dancing and performances, while also highlighting his philanthropic work through the Symphonic Love Foundation. While Usher is also recognized in Crockett’s Congressional Record entry, the footage from the tour stop shows Brown receiving the honor onstage.
Producer and songwriter RoccStar, who said he helped connect Brown with lawmakers for the recognition, celebrated the moment on social media. “Wow WE MADE IT TO THE HISTORY BOOKS!! BLESSED & highly favored!” he wrote, adding, “I had the pleasure of making a powerhouse play between Congress and my brother @chrisbrownofficial with such a rare honor!”
RoccStar also thanked Crockett and Texas State Rep. Venton Jones for helping make the moment possible, saying bringing the recognition to Brown “almost brought me to tears.” He noted that Brown and Usher are now both recognized in the Congressional Record for their influence on R&B and the positive impact of their work.
