“The Mo’nique Show” Half-Way Canceled…But Why?

BET’s late night talk show, “The Mo’nique Show” hosted by actress/comedian Mo’nique will be on a hiatus until further notice. BET made a statement saying…
The Mo’Nique Show’ will be on production hiatus beginning in the fall. However, new episodes of the show will continue to air throughout the summer. Mo’nique Hicks and ‘The Mo’Nique Show’ are important to the Network and we look forward to continuing our relationship with her.
The real question is…if the show is being canceled–why? AJC’s Rodney Ho shared that he received a text message from Monique’s side-kick (Rodney Perry) stating,
I was told indefinite hiatus. They haven’t had this type of investment ever. We did 300 shows over two seasons. That’s a huge investment.
The good news is Mo’nique isn’t completely out of work. She’s cast for a supporting role in Indie dramedy “Bumped,” starring Katie Cassidy, Alex Gonzalez and Xenia Siamas.
