Erykah Badu Helps Push Babies Out, “I’ve always had a mothering nature.”

40-year-old Erykah Badu, who is a singer, songwriter and mother of three, can now add another impressive gig to her resume. Badu recently shared with People that she is a doula and is also studying to be a midwife.
She explained,
“I’ve always had a mothering nature. But I didn’t plan on becoming a doula. I just wanted to care for my family and friends…When I saw the baby, I cried. I knew what I was supposed to do with my life.”
Rumor has it that Badu does not get paid as a doula, but offers her services for free and provides assistance to expectant mothers through massages, performing the energy healing practice called Reiki, and comforts mothers during the labor process. Peep the full story here.
