Lindsay Lohan Goes to Anti-Shop Lifting School

25-year-old actress Lindsay Lohan is heading back to school. Shoplifting school that is. As part of her penance for her theft case of a necklace in April, Judge Stephanie Sautner ordered Lindsay to take (anti) shoplifting classes and 360 hours of service at the LA’s Downtown Woman’s Center. Barbara Staib, director of the communications at the National Association of Shoplifting Prevention, provides a better perspective on the purpose and goals of these classes. She says the program focuses on first-time offenders, to realize why they steal and why they shouldn’t do it again. She added that
“The classes we run are designed to help people if they are truly petty theft offenders, not professional shoplifters or people who shoplift to support a drug habit. They’re shoplifting because of something going on with their lives, or something they perceive to be missing from their lives.”
Interesting.
