Angela Simmons Gets Nude for Animals, Pulls Jesus Card

Daughter of famous hip hop pioneer Rev Run and creator of sneaker line Pastry, Angela Simmons does her first nude shoot to support her vegetarian lifestyle. PETA, which stands for People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals has garnered immense celebrity support over the years. Khloe Kardashian, Anna Nicole Smith, Danity Kane, Pamela Anderson, Kimora Lee Simmons and many more have posed for the animal rights company, with the tag line ‘I’d rather go naked than wear fur.’ As a vegetarian and Christian, Angela Simmons had no qualms standing up for this cause. On the ad, the fashionista states that,
“As a devout Christian, I feel it’s very important to show compassion for all of God’s creations — and adopting a vegetarian diet is the best way to keep innocent animals from suffering. I really want people to know what happens to animals … Animals have feelings, and I think it’s important we take action.”
Well the vegetarian lifestyle suits her, as she looked amazing in the Adam and Eve inspired photo shoot. Peep footage of the shoot:

(Editor’s Note: I love Jesus. But there’s something that I refer to as, “pulling the Jesus card.” Pulling the Jesus Card is used when a person talks about something totally non-related, then throws in Jesus to attempt to make it more valid. For example, “Girl you know I didn’t take my birth control pills last month, but God got my back.” Or, “F*ck you, you ain’t shit. You’re pathetic. I’m gonna pray for you.” That sorta thing.)

According to your definition of what it means to pull the Jesus card, using Jesus for something unrelated, Angela did not do that. Vegetarianism in DEFINITELY BIblical. It isn’t a sin to eat meet (all things are lawful but not all things are beneficial) BUT the Bible makes it clear that God’s original plan (hence the BEST way before sin entered the world) was for His people to be vegetarian. Genesis 1:29 says ” I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it – I give every green plant for food.” As Angela said, she is a devout Christian so she probably reads the Bible and knows what it says about this issue. There are also SEVERAL scriptures about taking care of the Earth and animals. I’m sure if you bothered to do even a cursory search, such as via google you would see God’s clear position on this. I know I typed a lot but I am also a devout Christian and it bothers me so much when people pretend to know God’s word, what things Jesus supports etc. and clearly don’t. I guess it’s how non- Christians (because really all true Christians ate devout, you can’t 1/2 follow Jesus) feel when someone spreads mis-information about someone they love. So you know… Check yourself before you wriggity wreck yourself when talking about the Lord.
