That’s Doctor Shaquille O’Neal To You… Shaq Gets His Doctorate In Education
You can start addressing former NBA superstar-now turned commentator, Shaquille O’Neal, as Dr. Shaquille O’Neal. It looks like the baller has kept this under wraps, but come Friday, Shaq will receive his doctorate degree in education from Barry University in Miami. The University’s chair of Organizational Learning and Leadership and Human Resource Development Program spoke highly of Shaq. He said:
“[Shaq] is a very impressive guy, very inquisitive, and it’s a pleasure to have him as a student. I think the degree will serve as an example for others, and he should be very proud of himself.”
I guess Hoopz really caught herself a good one, huh… More importantly, how do you feel about Shaq possibly teaching our youth someday?

Oh Lawd! Now I’m not gonna lie, Shaq does show the world his intelligent side when he’s commentating basketball. He can actually articulate thoughts and ideas about the game very well but whether or not I can see him as an educator…I don’t know about that one.
I dunno, Miss K.Ava… I think he’d have enough wit to keep a classroom’s attention, which is what some folk just can’t seem to do. [it would probably be easier for him if he were just Shaquille O’Neal and not SHAQ, though].
But, great story… nice to know that some cats do go back and finish their degree(s).
I’m very proud.
