Kasandra Perkins Laid to Rest in Texas

Kasandra Perkins, the 22-year-old woman who was killed over the weekend by her NFL’er boyfriend, Jovan Belcher, has been laid to rest. As you know, Kasandra was shot and killed in murder-suicide, leaving behind a three month old daughter, Zoey. The funeral service for her was held Thursday in Blue Ridge, Texas. A relative of Kasandra’s spoke at the service, saying that she was a loyal friend who brought joy to others with her smiles and laughter. Her great-uncle Ted Downing also told mourners:

“She had a deep, deep understanding about the important things in life,”

A white casket bedecked with a spray of white lilies and pink roses was the mourners’ focal point at Ridgeview Family Fellowship in Blue Ridge.Life Celebration Funeral Home says a separate service will be held Saturday in Austin, followed by burial in nearby Pflugerville. She is also survived by two siblings, her parents, grandparents and a great-grandmother.
