(EXCLUSIVE) LHHA’s Stevie J – Grand Jury Indictment in $1 Mill Child Back Child Support Case
The grand jury is used in criminal cases to determine if the prosecution’s case is strong and has enough evidence to prosecute in the real trial. Further, grand jury indictment allowed for the case to move forward quicker than without an indictment from a grand jury. Long story short, it’s not looking good for Stevie J.
The federal government reportedly explains to the judge that Stevie J – at the time of the indictment and currently – is receiving treatment at drug rehab in Georgia and won’t be released until February. They are requesting the judge postpone the arraignment until then.
The judge signed off on the motion and has scheduled Stevie J to be arranged on February 10th, only days after he is released from rehab. See the court docs.
