New Year’s Day Horror: ‘About 40’ K*lled In Explosive Swiss Ski Resort Fire
A dadly New Year’s Day fire tore through the Le Constellation bar inside a luxury ski resort in Crans-Montana, Switzerland, klling “about 40” people and injuring 115 others, many critically.
Smoke was first spotted around 1:30 a.m., and “a few seconds later, a witness contacted the emergency call center,” triggering a red alert. Witnesses said the blaze caused an “explosion,” and authorities later described the rapid fire spread as a “flashover.”
Emergency crews rushed in within minutes, deploying 40 ambulances, ten helicopters, and 150 medical personnel. The high number of injured victims overwhelmed local hospitals, forcing transfers across Switzerland and abroad. Officials said foreign nationals “from multiple countries are likely” among the victims, and identifying everyone could “take several days.”
Swiss President Guy Parmelin called the incident “a tragic loss” and “one of the worst tragedies” the nation has faced.
It’s unclear if any Americans were harmed in the blast. Prayers to the victims and survivors of this tragic incident??
