Diddy Reportedly Unable To Directly Mention Cassie In Controversial Apology Video Due To NDA

Media mogul Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs apparently had good reason not to mention Cassie’s name in his apology video.

According to reports, an NDA the former couple signed prevents either one from saying the other’s name publicly.

Reportedly, when Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, 54, paid Cassie ‘Cassandra’ Ventura, 37, an undisclosed settlement amount after she sued him last year, the two signed the non-disclosure agreement which held a clause barring either one from saying the other’s name publicly from that point forward. Sources familiar with the matter reportedly shared that the REVOLT founder wanted to apologize directly to his ex over the horrific video of him physically assaulting her, but was unable to do so because of the legal obligation.

As we’ve been covering, Diddy has continued to face immense backlash following the release of 2016 video footage that depicted him kicking, hitting, and dragging Cassie while they were at a hotel. The “Me & U” singer mentioned the incident in her bombshell sexual abuse and trafficking complaint against Diddy, though the video support was just recently released by CNN this past Friday (May 17th).

Cassie has notably not said anything at all about the video, though her lawyer has. It’s unclear what consequences the celebrities may face for breaking the NDA, but it doesn’t appear that either is willing to cross that line. Reportedly, Diddy’s lawyers thoroughly reviewed the apology before he put it out to ensure it was in compliance and that it didn’t implicate him in the 3 other lawsuits he’s currently facing.
