Lola Monroe Celebrates Birthday, Explains Boss B*tch Movement & Why She Went from Model to Rapper
Statistically, y’all either love Lola Monroe or are just nosy. After I ran Lola’s response to rumors posted by MTO, y’all have clicked it non-stop. In either case, I won’t judge you.
Word on the street is that Lola Monroe celebrated her birthday this weekend and is scheduled to throw a single release & Video premiere Party on Thursday at DC’s Bar 7.
In other news, Lola was featured in Yo! Raps Magazine, where she discussed her “Boss B*tch Movement” and why she decided to become a female rapper.
Yo! Raps: Today, more than ever, female rappers have an opportunity to shine in the music industry. What makes your brand different from the other rappers that are coming out?
Lola: Yes they are, and I’m really happy that more females are coming out. I feel as though it’s our time. We all represent different things. What makes my brand different is the movement I have created which is Boss Bitch movement. I’m the Queen Bosset and I lead my Boss Bitch’s aka my Bossets to becoming leaders themselves. My movement represents every woman. It shows the way to prevail through anything till you reach your highest point in life! I base my music on reality. I have a deep past from my childhood up until now. My music reflects my story so that definitely sets me aside from the other females.
Yo! Raps: So, Lola, understanding that you are well-known as a model, what made you decide to take another venture in becoming a recording artist?
Lola: I knew that I would pursue a music career ever since I first got into the entertainment business. I used music as my escape from different issues ever since I was a child. It was my way of releasing my bottled up emotions. I went from writing poems to writing love songs at 14. When I got into entertainment, I knew this would be my chance to go after my dreams of becoming a recording artist.
