Prince’s Super Bowl Concert Cancelled Due to Piss-Poor Planning

Organizers were forced to cancel the Prince concert in Dallas on Friday that was scheduled to take place. The cancellation had nothing to do with the sh*tty Dallas weather either, but piss poor planing. Prince and Erykah Badu were scheduled to perform at the Hotel Intercontinental, but organizers called off the show one hour before it was scheduled to start. Prince’s manager released a statement last night stating, “We are extremely disappointed that the organizers, the Meridian Entertainment Group and the River Alexander Group . . . were unable to bring Prince and his band to Dallas on Feb. 4.”
So exactly, what happened? The statement also added that, “Our understanding is that they lost their investors and were not able to adequately fund and produce the event. Prince was looking forward to performing in support of the Goss-Michael Foundation.” There are also reports that claim that the River group didn’t cover essential concert costs like Prince’s travel, rental equipment, etc. There were also reports that Prince’s flight was delayed due to the weather. Long story short, no concert took place. This is sad news since the event was actually a benefit concert. Source
