Tyler Perry Wins Big @ NAACP Awards + Prince’s Baby Hair Spotted

The 42nd NAACP Image Awards took place on Friday in Los Angeles, with actress Holly Robinson Peete and comedian Wayne Brady hosting. The annual show honors diversity in the arts and outstanding achievements in film, television, music and literature. This year, the film, “For Colored Girls,” cleaned house—winning best picture, director (Tyler Perry) and supporting actress (Kimberly Elise). Tyler Perry also won outstanding comedy series for his show, “Tyler Perry’s House of Payne,” while an actor from his show, “Tyler Perry’s Meet the Browns,” won best actor in a comedy series. Halle Berry’s role in “Frankie & Alice” landed her the honor of best actress in a motion picture and Denzel Washington won best movie actor for his role in, “Book of Eli.” Mary J.Blige, Alicia Keys, Usher and Fantasia took home (although all weren’t present) music awards.
