Robert Ebert’s Controversial Tweet about Dunn, “Friends don’t let jackasses drink & drive.”

Less than 24 hours after the death of Ryan Dunn, film critic Roger Ebert wrote the controversial tweet (above) about Dunn’s death. Dunn, along with another passenger, died in a car accident early Monday morning. It is widely speculated that alcohol may have been involved in the accident, as Dunn posted a photo of him and friends having drinks at a bar. My question is, is it highly insensitive to make comments/tweets about Dunn’s death or is this a perfect opportunity to have a very real conversation about drunk driving?

wow…what an ass
I dont think he was being an ass, he tweeted it BEFORE Dunn passed away. And he was drinking and driving, why are people sad, when we spend money on advertising to let people know that you shouldn’t drink and drive because not only can you kill yourself, but you can kill others who have nothing to do with your choices!
