LaLa Talks Previous Failed Engagement + Does Broadway

Lala Celebrates New Play w/ Tricked Out Cake
LaLa Vasquez is succeeding at showing us she can do it all. On top of being a NBA baller’s wife (Lala is married to Carmelo Anthony) a mother, and a reality TV show star, she has now also added Broadway actress to her resume. For the rest of October, LaLa will play a few roles in the off-Broadway play titled “Love, Loss, and What I Wore.” The play is about 5 women who use their wardrobes to help reminisce on the situations they go through in life and how they’ve grown from their experiences. LaLa will be playing 3 different characters in it: a lesbian, a mother, and a gang member! Here’s what she had to say about the production and her roles in it.
“I thought theater was a great way for people to see my work as an actress and see what I can do. You know, I tell so many different stories, but I think what I bring to the play is, I’m the youngest member of the cast, so I bring that edgy, cool element, and you know my stories are definitely different stories that I think our generation can relate to.”

While she’s taking on her new acting role, her reality show “LaLa’s Full Court Life” still airs on VH1 on Mondays at 9 p.m. The show illustrates her professional and personal life with friends, family and her marriage to Carmelo Anthony. And although she’s a married woman, LaLa recently opened up about love before Melo. She explained,
“Before Mel, I had a boyfriend, and he proposed to me on national television. I said ‘yes’ because I remember not wanting to embarrass him. I loved him and he was my friend. Obviously, we broke off the engagement… I realized I was really young and didn’t want to be engaged.”
Two times an absolute charm and winner!
