Lil Kim To Drop Book & Documentary

In a recent interview with Kay Slay, rapper Lil Kim (real name Kimberly Denise Jones) discussed her plans to release a book entitled ‘The Price of Loyalty‘ and an untitled documentary. Lil Kim was supposed to release a memoir back in 2008. The publishing company, Simon & Schuster sued her for accepting a $40,000 advance and never turning in a finished product. The two (Kim and the publishing company) had creative differences in the direction that the book should go in. Meanwhile, Kim explains her current documentary and book plans:
“I’ve been independent; you know I left my record company two years ago. I was in another situation and that’s going to be in the documentary as well and why it took so long. I am not sure if I’m going to separate that documentary from that book. That’s what we’re trying to figure out right now….I’ve been doing everything myself and quite frankly, for me not to have the backing, or the budget that I used to have, for me to be able to still move the way I move and be relevant the way I am, I feel blessed.”
Her current book and documentary plans will include an autobiographical viewpoint of her life, her experience in prison (Kim was sentenced to a year and a day in Philadelphia federal prison for providing false information on a shooting outside of New York’s Hot 97 radio station back in 2005) and the challenges that she’s overcome.
