It’s Officially OVA :: Tina & Mathew Knowles Are Divorced

It took a while, but unfortunately (or fortunately), the marriage between Beyonce’s parents, Mathew and Tina (real name Célestine Ann) Knowles , is officially over. The two, who married in 1980, finalized their divorce (via divorce decree), last month in Texas. So, why did these two end their marriage after more than 30 years? In court documents, Tina noted that the marriage was

“insupportable because of discord or conflict of personalities” … which “prevents any reasonable expectation of reconciliation.”

And while that’s vague as hell, one can ASSUME that she may have been a bit pissed that Mathew had a relationship and child outside their marriage, with a woman named Alexsandra Wright. After Alexsandra’s son, Nixon, was born, she requested a paternity test from Matthew. He later admitted to having an affair with her, the paternity test was positive and he was ordered to pay child support.
