Oprah’s Birthday Plans + Gayle King Sets the Record Straight

Today, Oprah celebrates her 58th birthday with media mogul Ted Turner, interviewing him for tonight’s episode of “Oprah’s Master Class”. The talk show, which is broadcast on OWN network, is described as a “look into the minds of true modern masters…”

In other Oprah news, rumors surfaced that she is Blue Ivy Carter’s Godmother.  Gayle King, Oprah’s close friend, shot those rumors down saying,

“It’s absolutely not true that she’s the godmother.  She’s friends with them, of course and likes them both very much. She’s working on sending them a baby gift. She hasn’t even had time to send a [proper] baby gift because she’s been away…..Let me just say, if [that report is] true, it is news to her. It is news to her. You know, she was heading to South Africa when the baby was born.”

We like to take Gayle’s word for fact, being that she’s been Oprah’s number 2 for God knows how long! So if she ain’t the God-Momma, who is? We’ve put our money on Gwyneth Paltrow or Kelly Rowland, but only time will tell.
