Sampling Woes :: Kanye West Hit With ANOTHER Lawsuit, This Time for $500k

I’m not sure if this is an ongoing trend for Kanye West, but last week, he was hit with his most recent lawsuit by Robert ‘Bobby’ Poindexter. The new copyright lawsuit alleges that he sampled an unauthorised song off of his 2006 mixtape Freshmen Adjustment 2. Poindexter, of The Persuaders, claimed that Kanye used part of The Persuaders’ song, ‘Trying Girls Out’, in a remix version of ‘Girls, Girls, Girls’ .
According to court documents, Poindexter alleges:
“I have offered to resolve this matter out of court with Kanye West. But in response, he has refused to even discuss any ‘out-of-court’ resolutions whatsoever. Nor has he provided any evidence that he is demanding others to cease and desist from selling the illegal version.”
Poindexter seeks $500,000 in damages.
