Its A Wrap! Filming For Oprah Winfreys ‘The Butler’ Wraps + Oprah Snags Tyler Perry for OWN

Filming for ‘The Butler’ has officially wrapped! As most of you know, the Lee Daniel’s film tells the story of Eugene Allen, who worked as a butler through a number of Presidents. Oprah plays his wife. Kravitz plays another butler in the film. Click here for the backstory and details on the film. Early this week, the last scene was filmed with Oprah Winfrey and Terrence Howard. Oprah shared the final photo, writing:
And THAT’s a Wrap! Terrance Howard and me in our goodbye”love scene”.
The film is set to hit the big screen in 2012.

And in other Winfrey news, OWN recently announced an exclusive partnership with Tyler Perry, which includes two new scripted series for the network that would premiere in mid-2013. The deal would make OWN the “singular destination” for any new tv series or projects from Perry (who has successfully launched “Tyler Perry’s House of Payne,” “Meet the Browns” and “For Better or Worse” on TBS ). Perry will executive produce, write and direct both series. Both shows will be produced by Perry’s production company, Tyler Perry Studios.
Tyler Perry shared his announcement on his web site, writing:
As I sit here in Atlanta, it’s raining an abundant rain. It makes me think of my mother. She loved the rain and I do too. It is befitting that this announcement would be made on a day like today. Yes it’s true, Oprah and I have joined forces. We’ve formed a partnership for OWN and I’m super excited about it. I’ll fill you in more as we get closer to the airing of my shows. I have a lot of questions for you about this, so stay close, OK? I need your help.
