Deion Sanders’ Divorce Attorneys Quit Because He Can’t Afford to Pay Them
Just when you think the entertainment value has leveled out, with the public divorce between Deion and Pilar Sanders, more drama (of sorts) hits. A few weeks ago, we shared an open letter penned by Pilar, along with photos, alleging that during their marriage Deion had been physically abusive. And over the weekend, we’ve learned additional drama about the divorce, this time, only about Deion. Reportedly, Deion’s attorneys have quit. On New Year’s Eve, Deion’s attorneys filed legal papers asking to withdraw from the divorce case.
Why? According to court documents, attorneys Jody L. Johnson and Rick Robertson want to drop out of the case because they are
“unable to effectively communicate with their client,” and Deion is “unable to pay his attorneys pursuant to the terms of the employment agreements with his attorneys.”
No official response from Deion’s camp, but a child custody hearing is scheduled for January 9, a prenup arbitration hearing on January 22 and a jury trial on children’s issues on March 4. Stay tuned
